VJEMC Membership Benefits graphic

There are many great benefits for becoming a member of the VJEMC.
Some of these include:

  1. Full color on-line club magazine, the "VJEMC Scrambler," featuring 24 or more pages, bi-monthly, filled with tech tips, restoration information, and feature articles on vintage Japanese, European, and British motorcycles. VJEMC member collections and vintage motorcycle businesses will also be featured. Free classified advertising, question and answer sections, an updated and expanded price guide for all makes and models of vintage motorcycles prior to 1993 and more will be featured! Advertising will be limited to those firms with vintage motorcycle-related businesses.

  2. MOTORCYCLE INSURANCE PROGRAMS-WHO TO CONTACT FOR INFORMATION FOR YOUR NEEDS

We are doing research to help us to obtain the best motorcycle insurance rates for our members. The procedure for obtaining insurance and information with the providers we are recommending for coverage will vary depending on what you are looking for and where you live, so please use the information enclosed in this section carefully.

We wish to note that each company has several unique characteristics that may make one of them more beneficial over the other depending on your needs. These variables can include driving record, age of vehicles, number of vehicles per policy (both minimum and maximum), special considerations, stated value, agreed value, designated value, modified or custom bikes, driving usage and mileage, appraisals, policy processing times, payment methods, premiums, and more. State regulations can also be a factor. Also, each client has different needs and requirements.

A listing of the preferred providers we recommend are listed below, along with their contact numbers. Some of these are “specialty carriers” who deal in vintage vehicles who you may not have heard about in the past, who offer policies that may include larger numbers of vehicles on one policy. They may also steer you to an agent nearest you to help you with additional questions.

Make sure to mention that you are a member of the VJEMC and provide your member number when contacting any of these agencies to get the best possible rates!

  3. National office who cares - The VJEMC will have a national office that is open Monday through Friday, 8AM-4PM Central Standard Time, to help all members with concerns or questions.

  4. State field reps who care - Field reps for the VJEMC will be mentored by the officers and national office staff so they do not feel "left out in the cold" or uninformed about how to proceed. Their issues and concerns will be addressed promptly. Members are encouraged to contact field reps in their area to voice their needs and concerns.

  5. National meet - The annual VJEMC International Vintage Motorcycle Show and Swap Meet, is to be held August 15-17, 2008, at the Outagamie County fairgrounds in Seymour, Wisconsin, home of the longest running county fair in the state. The event hosts over 2,000 swap meet spaces, vintage shows, vintage rides, seminars, and more.

  6. Board meetings - Regular board meetings will be held by the national board and will be announced to all members via e-mail or in the magazine so any member or field rep can voice their needs or concerns.

  7. More local and state events - Field reps will be given guidance as to how to set up and run quality events in their area. Our goal is to bring more rides and shows to each state so more people can join in the camaraderie. To that extent, the more events we offer, the greater our membership will become!

  8. Discounts at dealers nationwide - We are assembling a growing list of vintage dealers who will offer a discount on services or goods purchased to members of the VJEMC!

  9. The "PREFERRED DEALER" list - If you have had problems with a dealer of parts, bikes, or services in the vintage motorcycle industry, you probably have a story to tell! Thus, we want to reward those dealers who provide good service by promoting them in our annual "Preferred Dealer List," that will be sent to all members each year, FREE OF CHARGE!! This will provide members with a host of reliable people and services. Consequently, it will also encourage these people to advertise in our club magazine, and attend shows and events sponsored by the VJEMC! This list will be sent to all members in the annual comprehensive price guide issue of the VJEMC Scrambler in March of each year.

  10. Our website - Our website will feature many areas to help members, including tech tips, field rep contact information, national office information, show and ride details, member forums, links, and more. The idea is to be able to share as much information with members as possible.

  11. Hotel discounts - Do you need a room when you are going to a VJEMC event? Or maybe you need a room for a business trip or a vacation? We have teamed with another sponsor, Wyndham Hotels, to bring you discounts on rooms for any need you may have. Wyndham brands are mid-priced hotels which include Days Inn, Ramada Inn, Super 8, Villager, Wingate Inn, Travelodge, Amerihost, Howard Johnsons, Windham, Baymnot, and Knights Inn.

  12. Discounts at VJEMC events - For any event run by a VJEMC branch where there is an admission, members may attend for half price. Anyone volunteering to help a VJEMC rep run an event will get in for free.

Vintage Motorcycle Certification Service - Members may take advantage of the VMCS and get discounts on services to get their bikes certified for condition, originality, value, and authenticity. This will aid members in buying, selling, and investing in vintage motorcycles. Certified vehicles often have, and retain, a higher value!

Motorcycle shipping discounts - We are currently working with Federal Motorcycle Transport, which is an agent of Allied Van Lines. Federal offers a club discount for members shipping motorcycles to or from their home/office.

National Motorcycle Museum - Anamosa, IA
Card-carrying VJEMC members will receive a $1 discount off their admission price.
