This is my 1977 Kawasaki KZ1000, the first year that this model was manufactured. Interestingly, it has been owned by four people named John. The first owner bought it new and lived in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He sold it to John Urban, a VJEMC member in Milwaukee.

After getting an expensive speeding ticket on it, Urban sold it to Johnny Bova from Johnny's Vintage Motorcycle Company in Wadsworth, Ohio, during a visit to Vintage Motorcycle Days at Mid-Ohio in 2005. Johnny is also a VJEMC member. I purchased it from Johnny for my collection in February of 2009, keeping with one of the themes of my collection in obtaining rarer, first year models.

I have been offered $8,000 for it since then, but really have no interest in selling it at this time. It is in 100 percent original condition with nothing being restored, and is currently in condition 2. It runs and rides like the day it was manufactured, with only just over 7,000 miles on the odometer.
