
Seat Cover Installation
This month we will also cover seat cover installation, this trick can save you hundreds of dollars buy reconditioning your old seat pan and foam to look like a new seat, all while adding good looks and value to your machine. Our seat covers are sewn up new at the time of order so you don't get some cracked and dry rotted old stock item but a brand new cover sewn up fresh for you; from a template in the color of your choice (10 color options)
REMOVING YOUR OLD SEAT COVER
1- Remove seat strap and any other trim
2- If your seat has a steel pan and has hooks, bend the hooks up just so far enough to remove the old cover.
WARNINGS
- Be sure not to over bend the hooks, as they may snap off.
- Be careful, sharp, pointy edges could cause injury.
- If you are right handed, work around the pan counter clockwise, working away from the sharp edges.
- If you have a newer model with a plastic pan, the seat cover is fastened with staples, To remove: pry up one end of the staples and with needle nose pliers, pull staples out. Be careful not to break off the staples in pan.
- Most steeped seats are glued at steep. When removing the old cover be careful not to tear the foam body where glued.
INSTALLING NEW SEAT COVER
1- Find a clean flat working area.
2- Do not attempt to install cover below 75 °F (24°C)
3- For the best results, use a heat lamp about 3 feet (1 meter) away from the seat. If no heat lamp is available, warm sunshine or a warm room will do.
4- On steeped seats, apply a thin even coat on a seat body and seat cover in the steeped area.
5- Stretch new cover to match step of the foam body. Keep new cover centered. Hold down until glue holds.
